Start with the connection
Open another website or app to confirm that your phone can reach the internet. If the connection is unstable, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, wait a moment and reopen the chapter. A connected icon alone does not guarantee that the current network can reach a third-party manga source.
Wait, then tap Retry once
A temporary network or source error can clear after a short pause. Use the Retry action once and give the chapter time to respond. Repeated rapid retries rarely help and can make it harder to tell whether the source has recovered.
Check another supported source
Manga Mochi reads from supported third-party websites. Those sites can change, slow down or become unavailable independently of the app. Return to Sources and check another supported source. Availability varies, so another source may not carry the same title, chapter or language.
Manga Mochi does not host or translate third-party manga. A missing chapter may reflect the source catalog rather than a problem with your saved library.
Confirm the selected manga language
The interface language and manga language are separate. If a title disappears after a language change, review the manga-language preference and browse the source again. Follow the language settings guide to check both controls.
Use Downloads for an unreliable connection
When a supported chapter is available, download it completely while online before travel or a weak-signal period. Open the saved chapter from Downloads after disconnecting. The offline reading guide explains the full preparation and verification flow.
Protect local data before destructive troubleshooting
Clearing app storage or uninstalling can remove local bookmarks, history, progress, preferences and downloaded chapters. Do not use either as a first troubleshooting step. Create a manual backup first and verify that you can restore it. See the local backup guide before changing phones, reinstalling or clearing storage.
